New Zealand vs Scotland Women’s T20 World Cup action kept the defending champions alive, with New Zealand women’s national cricket team winning by six wickets at The Oval.
Scotland women’s national cricket team posted 7-131 after being sent in, but New Zealand reached 4-132 with 10 balls left. The result matters because New Zealand still have a slim semi-final chance, while Scotland are now out of last-four contention.

Sharp And Halliday Rescue New Zealand
New Zealand were in real trouble at 3-26 after a poor powerplay, before Izzy Sharp and Brooke Halliday turned the chase.
Sharp attacked with confidence and made a career-best 62 from 43 balls. Halliday played the calmer hand, finishing unbeaten on 41 as their 101-run partnership carried New Zealand to the brink of victory.
"What a special knock from Sharp," New Zealand captain Melie Kerr said. "She has the potential to be one of New Zealand's best ever and the best in the world."
Carter Knock Not Enough For Scotland
Scotland started strongly through Darcey Carter, who reached 50 from 37 balls and finished unbeaten on 72.
New Zealand’s fielding again caused concern, with two more dropped catches taking their tournament tally to 13 in four games. Scotland looked set for around 150 before Sophie Devine, Nensi Patel, Bree Illing and Kerr pulled the innings back.
Devine took two wickets in her first over, while Kerr returned in the 19th over with a double-wicket maiden to finish with 3-17.
New Zealand must now beat unbeaten England women’s national cricket team next Saturday and hope West Indies women’s national cricket team drop points to keep their semi-final hopes alive.
