England vs Bangladesh Test preparations for the 2027 Ashes are set to include a one-off match against Bangladesh in late May, according to reports released on Monday. The fixture is expected to serve as a key warm-up before England's high-profile Ashes campaign against Australia, with the venue yet to be confirmed. The decision matters because it could shape England's red-ball preparation for one of cricket's biggest rivalries.
Lord's and Oval in Consideration
The venue depends on where the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) stages the next World Test Championship final. Lord's has hosted the previous two finals, but concerns over pitch conditions have reportedly prompted discussions about moving the event to The Oval.
If the WTC final is awarded to The Oval, Lord's could instead host the Bangladesh Test. That would increase London's share of Test matches next summer and leave northern England without a Test venue.
Busy Schedule Ahead
England are already scheduled to play two Tests in Bangladesh in February before meeting Australia in the 150th anniversary Test and the Ashes series.
