The Australia vs Bangladesh T20I series ended in dominant fashion on Sunday as Australia secured a seven wicket victory in Chattogram to complete a 3-0 clean sweep. Fast bowler Spencer Johnson produced a record breaking spell with the ball, helping restrict Bangladesh to 8-109 before Australia chased down the target with 54 deliveries remaining. The result capped an impressive turnaround for the tourists after losing the preceding ODI series 2-1.

Australia entered the final match looking to finish the T20I series unbeaten and delivered one of their most complete performances of the tour. Johnson's outstanding bowling laid the platform before captain Mitch Marsh blasted a rapid half century to seal victory.

Johnson delivers record breaking spell

Johnson was the standout performer with the ball, returning remarkable figures of 2-6 from his four overs. The spell became the most economical four over performance by an Australian in men's T20I history.

The left arm quick consistently troubled Bangladesh's batters with disciplined line and length, conceding just six runs across his full allocation. His performance was particularly notable after a difficult outing in the second T20I, where he gave up 39 runs from two overs.

Australia's bowling attack maintained pressure throughout the innings. Nathan Ellis claimed 2-21 while leg spinner Adam Zampa finished with 2-22, ensuring Bangladesh never gained momentum.

The hosts struggled for runs from the beginning and regularly lost wickets while attempting to accelerate. Australia's disciplined approach limited scoring opportunities and forced Bangladesh into mistakes.

Towhid Hridoy fights lone battle

Bangladesh's innings was held together almost entirely by acting captain Towhid Hridoy, who finished unbeaten on 61.

Hridoy remained at the crease throughout the innings and accounted for more than half of his team's total. However, he received little support from the rest of the batting lineup.

Rishad Hossain was the only other Bangladesh batter to reach double figures, contributing 16 runs. No other player managed more than seven runs as wickets fell steadily around Hridoy.

The final score of 8-109 reflected Australia's control with the ball. Despite Hridoy's resistance, Bangladesh struggled to build partnerships or apply pressure on the visitors.

Marsh powers Australia to comfortable chase

Australia made light work of the modest target thanks largely to an explosive innings from captain Mitch Marsh.

Marsh smashed 60 runs from just 28 deliveries, bringing up his 14th T20I half century and earning player of the match honours. His aggressive approach quickly put the result beyond doubt.

Speaking after the victory, Marsh praised Australia's adaptability throughout the series.

"The way we adapted to the conditions each and every game … I thought we were fantastic with the ball today," Marsh said.

Josh Inglis contributed 17 before being dismissed, while Marsh continued attacking until shortly after reaching his milestone. Cooper Connolly added 15 before falling to leg spinner Rishad Hossain.

With only a handful of runs required, Tim David finished the contest in emphatic fashion. The powerful batter struck two sixes to remain unbeaten on 12 and guide Australia to 3-112.

Clean sweep highlights Australia's T20 strength

The series victory underlined Australia's growing confidence in the T20 format. After suffering defeat in the ODI series earlier in the tour, the visitors responded strongly by winning all three T20 internationals.

Australia's bowlers were particularly impressive throughout the series, consistently restricting Bangladesh's batting lineup. The attack combined pace, variation and spin effectively in conditions that often favour the home side.

The performances of Johnson, Ellis and Zampa provided further evidence of Australia's depth ahead of future international assignments. Johnson's record setting spell will be remembered as one of the highlights of the tour.

Marsh also led from the front with the bat, producing another commanding innings in the final match. His aggressive approach ensured Australia chased the target quickly and without significant concern.

Bangladesh, meanwhile, will be disappointed with their batting displays across the series. Despite moments of resistance from individual players, the hosts struggled to post competitive totals against Australia's disciplined attack.
