County Championship action produced two standout hundreds as Mason Crane reached a maiden century for Glamorgan against Surrey at Sophia Gardens and Rehan Ahmed made his first hundred of the season for Leicestershire against Yorkshire.
Crane was unbeaten on 103 as Glamorgan moved to 332-7, while Rehan’s century pushed Leicestershire to 236-3 and a lead of 51. The runs mattered because both innings shifted pressure in Division One, with Rehan also giving England selectors another reminder of his all-round promise.

Crane And Rehan Take Charge
Crane frustrated Surrey after Chris Cooke had earlier reached three figures for Glamorgan, turning the lower order into a major problem at Sophia Gardens.
Rehan’s innings came after a prolific 2025 and gave Leicestershire control against Yorkshire at Grace Road. It was his first century of the campaign and arrived at a time when England’s spin options remain under close watch.
Division One Picture Shifts
Nottinghamshire drew level with Essex at Chelmsford with only four wickets down, keeping that match finely placed.
At Taunton, Dan Mousley and Sam Hain both passed fifty as Warwickshire reached 129-2 against Somerset. Mousley made 54 and Hain moved to 55, forcing Somerset into a long spell in the field.
Hampshire seamer Kyle Abbott took six wickets as Sussex were bowled out for 159 at Hove. Hampshire then slipped to 9-2 in their second innings, keeping Sussex interested despite the low total.
Division Two Updates
Northamptonshire were bowled out for 450 at Chester-le-Street after a last-wicket stand of 32 had frustrated Durham.
Ricardo Vasconcelos made a career-best 187 before falling to Matthew Potts, while Brad Wheal and George Broad also departed as Durham worked through the lower order.
In Division Two, Derbyshire reached 265-7 against Lancashire, with Anuj Dal and Ben Aitchison adding resistance. Kent made 416 against Middlesex, and Gloucestershire were dismissed after Miles Hammond finished unbeaten on 139.
