State of Origin will continue for another three AFL seasons, but Victoria will not host a match and New South Wales and Queensland have been left out of the schedule. The AFL confirmed one pre-season contest each year from 2027 to 2029 involving only Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia.
Western Australia will host South Australia at Optus Stadium in 2027 before South Australia welcomes Victoria to Adelaide Oval in 2028. Victoria will then travel west to face Western Australia at Optus Stadium in 2029, repeating the location of the 2026 edition.

Victoria Misses Out on Home Fixture
The decision means Victorian supporters will not see their state play at home during the three-year cycle. New South Wales and Queensland, despite having AFL clubs, will not take part at all.
Players from New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory previously appeared together as the Allies during the late 1990s.
AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon said the competition wanted to build on the successful return of interstate football, which attracted more than 58,000 spectators to Optus Stadium earlier this year.
"State football is one of the great traditions of our game, and we are pleased to see it continue in 2027 and beyond after the huge success of its return earlier this year which saw more than 58,000 people fill Optus Stadium in Perth," Andrew Dillon said.
"Origin inspires passion, State pride and draws upon decades of rivalries that are central to the history of our game and our greatest players."
