Ty Gallop faces a nervous wait for the AFL match review officer after an incident involving Mitch Georgiades during Brisbane Lions’ heavy win over Port Adelaide at the Gabba. The second-quarter moment drew attention because Mitch Georgiades was driven head-first into the turf after the original tackle had ended.
Ty Gallop first rolled Mitch Georgiades in a strong tackle before appearing to grab the Port Adelaide forward by the jumper and force him back to the ground. Mitch Georgiades finished the match without injury, but he had only recently returned from a concussion suffered against St Kilda in Round 18.

Josh Carr Questions Ty Gallop Action
Port Adelaide coach Josh Carr described the incident as a poor look but noted that his team received a free kick.
"It wasn't a great look, but I'm on the other side of it," Josh Carr said.
"They're a team that plays tough and pushes the limits. We got the free kick, so we got rewarded. There's not much more to say."
Josh Carr confirmed Mitch Georgiades was unaffected after the game. However, his comments prompted a firm reply from Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan.
Chris Fagan Defends Brisbane Lions
Chris Fagan said he had not watched a replay but rejected the suggestion that Brisbane Lions played outside the rules.
"That's his opinion. He's allowed to have it,” Chris Fagan said.
"You don't be one of the better teams of the competition if you don't play a hard physical brand.
"That's what we do. I don't think we do it unfairly. I think we brought good pressure today."
Darcy Gardiner could return next week if Ty Gallop receives a suspension. Port Adelaide acting captain Zak Butters is also working to return from ankle surgery before the season ends.
