Harley Reid could become the subject of a West Coast Eagles approach to the AFL after several disputed umpiring decisions during Friday night’s 70-point loss to the Fremantle Dockers. Coach Andrew McQualter will review the match footage before deciding whether to seek an explanation over the treatment of the 21-year-old midfielder.
Harley Reid conceded four free kicks and received only one as the Fremantle Dockers won 16.16 (112) to 6.6 (42). His season tally now stands at 46 free kicks for and 58 against, while his frustration was clear when he spoke with umpire Justin Power at quarter-time.

West Coast Eagles Seek Clarity
“We spoke to him about solutions,” Andrew McQualter said.
“We just refocused him and I thought he did that well after quarter time.”
Harley Reid did not receive a free kick after a high tackle from Shai Bolton, one of several incidents West Coast Eagles officials are expected to study.
“But we will definitely look closely at it and look to get some clarity if we think there’s some inconsistency in the way that Harley’s been treated,” Andrew McQualter said.
Harley Reid could also face match review attention for an elbow to Matthew Johnson’s midriff during the third quarter. Despite the heavy defeat, he finished with 30 disposals, 12 clearances and 442 metres gained.
Oliver Francou Injury Adds to Defeat
West Coast Eagles recruit Oliver Francou suffered a deep cut to his right knee when Andrew Brayshaw’s studs caught him during a tackle. He was given pain relief before leaving the ground in a medicab.
“It was a pretty scary incident,” Andrew McQualter said.
