Nam Tae-hee has joined Brisbane Roar for the 2026-27 A-League Men season, bringing years of international and club football experience to the Queensland side. The 35-year-old South Korean midfielder arrives from Jeju SK as Brisbane Roar prepares for its Australia Cup opener against Sydney Olympic.

Nam Tae-hee has played in South Korea, Japan, Qatar and France during a decorated career. His record includes seven Qatari Stars League titles and 54 appearances for South Korea, scoring seven goals.

Brisbane Roar Add a Proven Winner

Nam Tae-hee previously represented Yokohama F. Marinos, Al-Duhail, Al-Sadd and Valenciennes. His awareness, passing and ability to create chances should give Brisbane Roar more control and invention through midfield.

Brisbane Roar sporting director James Gow believes Nam Tae-hee will also provide an example for the club’s younger players.

“Nam is a proven winner,” James Gow said.

“He sees the game quickly, he creates chances, and he knows what it takes to win titles. Just as importantly, he is a professional our young players will learn from every single day.”

International Record Adds Value

Nam Tae-hee was part of the South Korea squad that reached the 2015 AFC Asian Cup final, where Australia claimed a 2-1 victory in Sydney. He also helped South Korea win a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

“I understand that this is a club hungry to be successful once again, so I am excited to meet my new teammates, the wonderful fans and get straight to work,” Nam Tae-hee said.

Nam Tae-hee will travel to Australia once his visa requirements are completed. Brisbane Roar will face Sydney Olympic at Belmore Sports Ground in Thursday night’s Australia Cup round-of-32 match.

Official club news is available through the Brisbane Roar website.
