Australia vs Bangladesh T20 action in Chattogram ended with Matt Renshaw producing an unbeaten 89 and a wicket as Australia won by seven runs on Friday to seal the three-match series.
Australia posted 196-5 after choosing to bat first, then held Bangladesh to 189-6 in a tense final-over finish. The result mattered because Australia wrapped up the T20 series after losing the preceding one-day international series 2-1 earlier this month.

Renshaw Leads Australia Recovery
Renshaw’s career-best unbeaten 89 steadied Australia after the visitors slipped to 44-3 inside the powerplay.
Josh Inglis fell for 11 to Nasum Ahmed, Cooper Connolly was removed for one by Nahid Rana, and captain Mitchell Marsh was dismissed for 20 by Mustafizur Rahman. Renshaw then rebuilt with Tim David, whose 45 off 26 balls came in a key 97-run partnership.
“It’s nice to get a couple of wins and wrap up the series after two games,” Renshaw said after the game.
Bangladesh Fall Short After Fast Start
Bangladesh began the chase quickly, with Tanzid Hasan and Saif Hassan putting on 48 in 3.4 overs.
Tanzid hit 30 off 15 balls before Renshaw took a sharp return catch. Soumya Sarkar kept the run rate high, but Adam Zampa removed him for 15 after Bangladesh reached 72-1 at the end of the powerplay.
Parvez Hossain Emon struck 36 off 22 balls and added 53 with Saif, before Aaron Hardie removed him and Joel Davies dismissed Saif for 42.
Towhid Hridoy kept Bangladesh alive with 35 off 22 balls, but he was caught on the boundary with eight needed from the final delivery.
“We were moving according to plan,” Emon said after the game.
“I felt the biggest damage was my wicket and Saif’s wicket falling back-to-back,” he added. “We fell a bit behind there, otherwise it was looking very good.”
Hardie took two wickets, while Nathan Ellis, Renshaw, Zampa and Davies claimed one each.
