Mark Bosnich was taken to hospital for scans after hurting his knee during a World Cup launch event on Friday, when a celebrity shootout went wrong.
The former Manchester United, Aston Villa and Australia goalkeeper had been taking penalties from several sporting names before Tabcorp chief executive Gillon McLachlan stepped up and sparked the injury scare.

Bosnich Injured During Penalty Save
Bosnich had already faced shots from Robbie Slater, Michael O’Loughlin, Elise Kellond-Knight and Justin Horo at the event.
The 54-year-old showed flashes of the goalkeeping ability that earned him 17 caps for Australia between 1993 and 2000, but the mood changed when McLachlan took his penalty.
McLachlan struck his shot down the middle, and Bosnich made an awkward save with his right foot while falling backwards.
Bosnich kept the ball out, but his right knee hit the ground heavily as he landed. The former Socceroos goalkeeper stayed down as the crowd slowly realised the injury was serious.
Football Great Sent For Scans
Fellow Socceroos great Archie Thompson, who was hosting the event, approached Bosnich while staff checked on him.
Bosnich eventually got back to his feet but limped away with help from medical staff.
He was later seen with ice on his knee before being taken to hospital for scans.
“I hit it flush,” McLachlan said afterwards.
Bosnich has remained a well-known football voice since retiring, building a long media career after spells with several clubs and Australia. Official Socceroos updates are available through Football Australia.
