Mitchell Moses Origin selection debate has taken another turn after the Parramatta Eels left the halfback out of their Round 14 team for precautionary reasons ahead of New South Wales’ second State of Origin match.
Moses missed the series opener with a hamstring injury suffered at training, while Ethan Strange stepped into the No.6 jersey and impressed Laurie Daley’s side with a strong all-round display.

Moses Rest Adds Pressure On Blues Call
Parramatta Eels officials said Moses is being rested and has not suffered a fresh injury, but his absence means he will not play before New South Wales pick their side for Origin II.
“The Eels are saying that Mitch is being rested for this game for precautionary reasons, it’s not a new injury,” The Daily Telegraph’s David Riccio said on NRL360.
“He just does not want to risk the potential of reinsuring... I don’t know (whose call it is). You’d think it is done in conjunction.
“But as far as Laurie taking him into camp, it’s going to be the Blues call. I anticipate he will, I reckon he will... and makes a call next week.”
Strange Pushes His Case
Ethan Strange’s strong Origin I performance has made the decision harder for Daley, especially after the young Canberra Raiders playmaker backed it up at club level.
“Ethan Strange,” Fox League’s Paul Crawley said, when asked who should start for the Blues.
Riccio argued that Moses’ experience and kicking game could still be vital, particularly in front of a sold-out Melbourne Cricket Ground crowd. Fans can follow official updates through the NRL website.
Braith Anasta said Daley now faces a difficult call between Moses’ proven record and Strange’s direct running style, defence and energy beside Nathan Cleary.
