The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Jake Trbojevic contract extension has been finalized for the 2027 NRL season after the vice-captain officially triggered his player option on Wednesday afternoon. This major decision secures the long-term future of the veteran middle forward at Brookvale Oval following intense speculation regarding his health and form.
The 32-year-old forward recently celebrated his 250th first-grade appearance for the club during a Round 10 clash against the Brisbane Broncos. He currently serves as the stand-in captain while his brother, Tom Trbojevic, recovers from an injury.
As the club solidifies its roster for next season, other teams are facing complete overhauls, such as the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Phil Gould operation rethink triggered by rules.
Career Milestones and Future Outlook
If Jake Trbojevic plays every regular-season match until the conclusion of 2027, he will climb to third on the all-time appearance list for the franchise. He would sit behind only club legends Daly Cherry-Evans and Cliff Lyons in total games played.
“I’m loving my footy, and I love this club,” Jake Trbojevic said in an official statement. “The past few weeks have been really enjoyable and our turnaround in form has been great for the whole club.”
The player also credited interim coach Kieran Foran for revitalizing the squad after replacing Anthony Seibold earlier in the season. Under the guidance of Kieran Foran, the fourth-placed team has secured six victories from their past seven matches.
“I love playing under ‘Foz’ and with this amazing group of players. I’m really happy to confirm that I’m locked in for next year,” Jake Trbojevic added.
Kieran Foran praised the work ethic of his veteran defender following the official announcement of the extension. “Jake is everything that is good about this club, he is Manly through and through,” Kieran Foran stated.
The fourth-placed squad will look to build on their current momentum when they host the Gold Coast Titans this Saturday. Fans can view full team lineups and the complete regular-season draw on the official NRL website.
