The New York Knicks complete historic NBA Finals comeback story will be remembered for years after New York rallied from 29 points down to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night. The victory gave the Knicks a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals series and moved them one win away from their first NBA championship since 1973.
Knicks Produce Stunning Turnaround
The Spurs appeared in complete control after building a 27-point halftime advantage and extending the margin to 81-52 in the third quarter. However, Jalen Brunson sparked the comeback with 36 points, while OG Anunoby added 33 and delivered the decisive tip-in with just 1.2 seconds remaining.
The atmosphere inside Madison Square Garden changed dramatically as the Knicks erased the deficit. Fans sensed the momentum shift during a dominant second half in which New York outscored San Antonio 58-30.
Spurs Let Big Lead Slip Away
Victor Wembanyama recorded 24 points and 13 rebounds for San Antonio but struggled with efficiency, shooting 9-for-25 from the field. The Spurs also cooled off from three-point range after a hot start.
