Justin McInerney injury news has hit the Sydney Swans hard, with the in-form midfielder set to miss at least eight weeks after hurting his hamstring in the two-point AFL win over St Kilda.
McInerney could be sidelined for up to 10 weeks, leaving second-placed Sydney without both of their leading wing options as Errol Gulden continues his recovery from a shoulder injury.

Swans Injury List Grows
McInerney was forced out late in the first half against St Kilda after reporting hamstring tightness, just as he had been filling the gap left by Gulden.
Sydney are hopeful Gulden can return in Round 16, but the Swans are also missing Tom McCartin, Lewis Melican, Dane Rampe, Tom Papley and Braeden Campbell.
McCartin will be sidelined after suffering another concussion against the Saints, while Melican, Rampe, Papley and Campbell remain out with separate injury concerns.
Taylor Adams is a test after hamstring and Achilles setbacks, while Logan McDonald could again be used through the middle after covering there against St Kilda.
Official AFL injury and fixture updates can be followed through the AFL website.
McDonald Ready To Fill Any Role
McDonald has played every game this season after missing all of last year through ankle and fibula issues, and has kicked 22 goals for the Swans.
“It’s something that’s been spoken about, me doing that over the last six months at times,” McDonald said.
“I have spent little snippets over there of my career here and there on the wing, but it was probably the first full-blown crack I had at it.
“It helps that we won and I was able to get a little bit of the ball, but I’ll just do whatever the coaches need.”
Sydney have already shifted recruit Jai Serong onto a wing, with the former Hawthorn defender kicking the match-winner against St Kilda.
The Swans remain second at 11-2, behind Fremantle, but their depth is being tested as coach Dean Cox manages a growing injury list.
