Lindsay Collins will remain sidelined for at least six weeks as the Sydney Roosters take extra care with the Queensland prop following his latest concussion. The forward has not played since suffering a head knock during the Round 17 win over the Brisbane Broncos.
The injury also ruled Lindsay Collins out of the State of Origin decider for the Queensland Maroons. Although the NRL requires an 11-day stand-down, the Sydney Roosters do not expect him to return before Round 23 against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

Roosters Put Player Health First
Lindsay Collins will miss matches against the Newcastle Knights and North Queensland Cowboys after already sitting out wins over the Parramatta Eels and Melbourne Storm.
The Sydney Roosters have taken a careful approach because Lindsay Collins has suffered several concussions during his career. He also sustained a head knock against the Brisbane Broncos earlier this season, while incidents in 2022 and 2024 led to extended absences.
Coach Trent Robinson has made it clear that the club will not rush Lindsay Collins back into the team. His recovery will be guided by his health rather than the Sydney Roosters’ position in the finals race.
Repeated Head Knocks Raise Concern
The Sydney Roosters have previously given Victor Radley and Luke Keary extra recovery time following concussion problems. Former captain Boyd Cordner and Jake Friend later retired after repeated head injuries.
Lindsay Collins has become a leading front-rower for the Sydney Roosters, Queensland Maroons and Australian Kangaroos. His return would strengthen the club’s pack during the closing rounds, but no comeback date will be confirmed until he is cleared.
Official concussion information and competition updates are available through the NRL website.
