The Perth Scorchers fixture for the 2026-27 Big Bash League season begins against the Melbourne Renegades in Chennai on December 12 before the defending champions return to Western Australia for three consecutive home matches.
Perth Scorchers will host Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder at Optus Stadium during December. Their first east coast trip arrives on January 2, when they face Sydney Thunder at ENGIE Stadium.
In other cricket news, Jayden Lennox claimed five wickets as New Zealand levelled its ODI series against West Indies.
“It’s a great result for our players and staff to have the opportunity to take part in the history-making clash in Chennai,” Perth Scorchers general manager Kade Harvey said.
Cricket Australia has confirmed the Chennai opener will be the first Big Bash League match staged outside Australia. The Perth Scorchers will then play five games at Optus Stadium.

The BBL finals begin on January 19, with the championship match scheduled for Australia Day on January 26.
