Brisbane Lions vs Sydney Swans ended in a 43-point AFL statement at the Gabba, with Chris Fagan’s side producing a sharp defensive performance in a 19.12 (126) to 12.11 (83) win.
Harris Andrews controlled the back half, while Charlie Cameron, Cam Rayner and Logan Morris helped Brisbane Lions turn pressure into scoreboard damage. The result matters because Brisbane have now won three straight after a mid-season stumble, while second-placed Sydney Swans were held well below their usual attacking flow.

Fagan Finds Winning Formula
Brisbane rushed Sydney’s handball game and forced the Swans into hurried decisions, a clear shift after Greater Western Sydney Giants, Fremantle Dockers and Geelong Cats had exposed the Lions earlier this season.
"It's a bit nerve-wracking, but that's how you've got to play against them," Fagan said.
"Seems to me we play better defensively when we go hard on attack and back ourselves in."
Rayner kicked three goals, Morris added three, and Cameron finished with two in a forward line that kept Sydney under pressure. Zac Bailey also kicked two goals from 20 disposals, while Will Ashcroft and Levi Ashcroft each had eight clearances.
Warner Shines Despite Swans Defeat
Chad Warner was Sydney’s best spark, finishing with four goals, 28 disposals and eight clearances.
His third goal was a standout solo effort, reading Lachie Neale’s chip kick, smothering, taking three bounces, stepping past Ty Gallop and finishing. Errol Gulden had 18 disposals and six tackles in 77 per cent game time on return from a shoulder injury.
The strangest moment came when Morris was ruled to have played on after snapping a set shot after the three-quarter-time siren, wiping away a goal.
"He did it thinking he was doing the right thing, but if he wasn't we need to learn from it and that's okay," Fagan said.
Sydney coach Dean Cox said Brisbane had given his side a clear test.
"That's what you always get, opportunities to learn and level out where you're at and we've always held Brisbane in the highest regard and they showed why," Cox said.
