Collingwood captain Darcy Moore is facing an uncertain future for the remainder of the 2026 AFL season after another hamstring setback. The star defender returned to training on Thursday following a trip to the United States, where he met specialists and worked on improving his strength and movement patterns. The injury, suffered during Collingwood's clash with West Coast on May 23, marks Moore's fourth soft-tissue issue of the season and has raised concerns about whether he will play again this year.
McRae Provides Honest Update
Collingwood coach Craig McRae admitted there is no clear timeline for Moore's return.
“Potentially. I don’t know if that’s reality, but he’s progressing the right direction to suggest he will, but I’m not sure when.”
McRae added that Moore still has “a long way to go” despite positive progress in recent training sessions.
Meanwhile, vice-captain Brayden Maynard is targeting a return within the next fortnight after recovering from a shoulder dislocation.
The Magpies sit 11th on the AFL ladder and will welcome Scott Pendlebury back for Saturday's clash with Richmond at the MCG.
