Starford To’a Manly Sea Eagles move has been confirmed, with Wests Tigers agreeing to release the outside back from the final two years of his contract so he can join the Brookvale club in 2027.
The 25-year-old was contracted at Concord until the end of 2028, but both parties have agreed to a fresh start after To’a fell in and out of Benji Marshall’s side this season. The move matters because Manly Warringah Sea Eagles needed outside-back cover after Reuben Garrick’s confirmed switch to Sydney Roosters in 2027.

To’a Gets Fresh Start At Brookvale
To’a has signed a two-year deal with Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, continuing a recent flow of players between the two clubs.
Luke Brooks, Jake Simpkin and the Fainu brothers have all been part of that Wests Tigers and Manly Warringah Sea Eagles player movement in recent seasons.
The New Zealand-born Tongan international made his National Rugby League debut for Newcastle Knights in 2019. He joined Wests Tigers in 2022 and has played 67 games for the club, scoring 21 tries.
Tigers Back Youth Movement
To’a has played only five times in the first 16 rounds of 2026 after dealing with injuries and form issues.
The emergence of Heamasi Makasini and Faaletino Tavana made his departure a practical outcome for Wests Tigers, who also gain salary-cap relief.
“We’re really grateful for what Star has done for the Club over a number of years,” Tigers coach Benji Marshall said on announcement of the news.
“We’re glad to have him with us until the end of this season and we wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career.”
Manly head coach Kieran Foran said To’a would add depth and quality next season.
“Starford is a quality player and a really good person, we look forward to welcoming (him) and his family with open arms next season.”
