Serena Venus Williams Wimbledon doubles plans are back on after the All England Club awarded the sisters a wild card for the tournament starting in less than two weeks.
The decision reunites one of tennis’s great doubles teams, with Serena Williams recently returning to competition after nearly four years away from professional tennis and Venus Williams still playing sporadically.
The wild card follows another recent doubles storyline, Victoria Mboko Injury Clouds Serena Williams Doubles Campaign at Queen's Club, as Serena builds match rhythm before Wimbledon. Fans can follow official tournament updates through the Wimbledon website.
Williams Sisters Reunite at SW19
Serena Williams, 44, and Venus Williams, who turns 46 on Wednesday, have won 14 grand slam doubles titles together.
Six of those came at Wimbledon, starting in 2000 and most recently in 2016.
Their last doubles appearance together came at the 2022 US Open, where they lost their opening match after more than four years without teaming up.
Serena’s last Wimbledon singles match was also in 2022, when she entered with a wild card and lost to Harmony Tan in the first round.
Serena Builds Doubles Match Time
Serena returned to doubles at Queen’s Club in London last week with Victoria Mboko.
The pair won their opening match before withdrawing after Mboko suffered a knee injury during singles play.
Serena was also scheduled to play doubles with Karolína Muchová at the Berlin Open later Tuesday.
The Wimbledon entry gives Serena and Venus another chance to revive a partnership built on power, court coverage and years of shared timing at the net.
