Priscilla Hon prize money comments have sparked fresh discussion in tennis after the Australian player pointed out the difference between the men’s and women’s winner payouts at the Libéma Open in the Netherlands.
Hon, ranked 146th, posted on Instagram that the men’s champion in ’s-Hertogenbosch is set to receive 110,055 euros, while the women’s champion will receive 32,520 euros.

Hon Shares Pay Gap Figures
Hon’s post drew attention because both events are being staged side by side in the same Dutch city, with the ATP 250 and WTA 250 tournaments carrying the same ranking points for their champions.
"Same tournament. Same draw. Very different paycheck."
The Australian made clear she was not blaming Libéma Open organisers, instead pointing to a wider tennis structure.
"Before anyone gets mad, I'm just sharing the numbers. This week, a WTA 250 and ATP 250 are running side by side in the same city," she wrote, before elaborating in the comments," she wrote.
"Just to be clear this is a system wide issue, not a Libéma Open issue. Just sharing the numbers and starting a conversation."
Australian Players In Dutch Draw
The Libéma Open sits at the start of the grass-court swing and has drawn several Australian players across the men’s and women’s fields.
Daria Kasatkina, Kimberly Birrell and Ajla Tomljanović are in the women’s draw, while Alex de Minaur is the second seed in the men’s event behind Felix Auger-Aliassime.
De Minaur entered the tournament after a difficult clay stretch, having won seven matches across six events, including three Masters 1000 tournaments and the French Open.
Grand Slam tournaments, which are run by the International Tennis Federation, pay equal prize money to men’s and women’s singles champions. Official tour details are available through the WTA website and the ATP Tour website.
