Florida prosecutors have moved to obtain medical records linked to Tiger Woods' treatment following his March 27 vehicle crash as part of an ongoing DUI case. The filing was submitted Monday in Martin County Circuit Court, with authorities seeking hospital records from Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital in Stuart, Florida. The development matters because the records could become key evidence in the misdemeanor case Woods is currently fighting.
Prosecutors Seek Hospital Records
According to court filings, prosecutors want access to reports documenting any statements Woods made regarding alcohol or chemical substance use, along with drug screening results and information about hospital staff involved in his treatment.
Woods reportedly has until June 25 to object before the subpoena is issued on June 30. His legal team has not publicly commented on the latest filing.
Crash Investigation Continues
Police said Woods was driving near his Jupiter Island home when his SUV struck the back of a trailer and rolled onto its side. Officers reported signs of impairment and later arrested Woods on suspicion of DUI and refusal to submit to a lawful test. Woods has pleaded not guilty.
Earlier this year, prosecutors were granted access to prescription records connected to the investigation.
Woods later announced he would step away from golf to focus on recovery.
"This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,"
The 15-time major champion missed both the Masters and PGA Championship and will also sit out this week's U.S. Open.
