The Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship has reached a major milestone after receiving its first-ever sanction from the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) for the 2026 tournament. The championship will take place from June 10-12 at Damai Indah Golf's PIK Course in Jakarta and has already attracted 137 young golfers from 31 countries. The recognition is an important step for one of Asia's longest-running junior golf events, helping raise its profile across the region and creating stronger opportunities for Indonesian players to compete against international talent.
APGC Endorsement Marks Historic Step
The APGC's backing is the first official sanction the championship has received from the regional governing body since the event began in 1993. Organizers believe the partnership will encourage greater participation from the APGC's 47 member associations while increasing the quality of competition.
"The impact of a growing number of international athletes coming to compete will be very positive for Indonesian athletes," said Budiarsa Sastrawinata, Founder and Chair of the Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation Board of Trustees.
Bank Mandiri will continue as the title sponsor for the fourth straight year, highlighting its ongoing support for junior golf development in Indonesia.
Growing International Presence
The tournament's registration numbers show its expanding reputation among young golfers worldwide. With athletes from 31 countries already confirmed, the championship continues to strengthen its standing as one of the region's leading junior golf competitions.
Players will compete at the renowned Damai Indah Golf PIK Course, a venue capable of hosting top-level international events. Local fans are expected to see rising golf talents from across Asia-Pacific and beyond, providing Indonesian juniors with valuable experience against strong international fields.
