Brazil and Morocco shared the points in a 1-1 draw in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group C clash at New York/New Jersey Stadium on June 13. Vinicius Jr rescued Brazil after Ismael Saibari had given Morocco an early lead, with both sides producing moments of quality in a match that highlighted why they are considered among the tournament's strongest teams.
Morocco Strike First, Brazil Respond
Morocco stunned the five-time world champions in the 21st minute when Saibari finished confidently after a precise pass from Brahim Diaz. Brazil responded 11 minutes later as Vinicius Jr cut inside from the left and fired a powerful shot beyond Yassine Bounou.
The packed crowd witnessed a competitive contest with chances at both ends. Bounou denied Lucas Paqueta and Raphinha, while Alisson made key saves late in the match to preserve the draw.
Reaction After Full-Time
Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "I think we didn't start very well, I'm a little worried."
Morocco midfielder Samir El Mourabet added: "It’s a good result against Brazil, now we’ll focus on what comes next."
Vinicius Jr was named the Michelob Ultra Superior Player of the Match.
