Hugo Hall-Kahan AFL debut plans have arrived sooner than Adelaide expected, with the mid-season recruit named to face Geelong at Adelaide Oval on Thursday night.
The Crows selected the 22-year-old defender in last week’s rookie draft, and Isaac Cumming’s hamstring injury at training on Monday opened the door for an immediate senior chance.

Crows Back New Recruit
Hall-Kahan joined Adelaide from VFL club Williamstown after a strong start to the season.
He had previously spent time on Sydney’s list after being picked up by the Swans in the 2022 mid-season draft.
"Our recruiting team ... tracked Hugo closely in the lead up to the mid-season draft and they recommended with confidence that he was a player that could add something to our squad, and that he had the potential to play at AFL level in 2026," Adelaide football boss Adam Kelly said.
"We didn't think that the opportunity would avail itself so early but with Isaac Cumming's injury on Monday night, and Hugo really impressing in our last two main sessions, the decision was made to bring him in for his AFL debut.
"Whilst new to our group, we are trusting in the high level of footy that Hugo has consistently produced in the VFL, and that warranted the opportunity."
Walker Returns As Crows Shuffle Side
Adelaide have also recalled veteran forward Taylor Walker, with Riley Thilthorpe suspended and Izak Rankine sidelined by a calf injury.
Geelong have made three changes, with Lawson Humphries out due to an ankle injury, Mitch Edwards managed and Brad Close dropped.
Jack Martin, Jack Bowes and Oli Wiltshire come into the Cats side for a match that carries a tough recent history for Adelaide.
Geelong have won their past six games against the Crows and nine of their past 10 meetings. Adelaide’s last win over the Cats came at Adelaide Oval in round one, 2021, with official competition updates available through the AFL website.
