Aryna Sabalenka French Open campaign began with a 6-4 6-2 win over Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro on Tuesday, as the world No.1 moved into the second round at Roland Garros.
The top-seeded Belarusian had a brief wobble in the first set on Court Philippe Chatrier, but her power from the baseline and improved net play helped her close out the match in 75 minutes.

Sabalenka started sharply in Paris, racing to a 4-0 lead before unforced errors gave Bouzas Maneiro a route back into the set.
The Spaniard broke twice and had the chance to serve for 5-5, but a double fault handed Sabalenka the opener and shifted the match firmly back her way.
Sabalenka takes control in second set
Sabalenka again moved quickly in the second set, building a 5-0 lead as Bouzas Maneiro struggled to contain her weight of shot.
Bouzas Maneiro held serve and then broke for 5-2, but another double fault sealed the result for last year’s French Open runner-up.
"That's the most enjoyable part of the game that I can come to the net to play points there, it's so much fun," last year's runner-up Sabalenka said.
"I'm so happy I was able to improve on that part of the game and bring it on court."
Sabalenka will next face either Czech qualifier Linda Fruhvirtova or France’s Elsa Jacquemot. Fans can follow the tournament draw through the official Roland Garros website.
