NRL Magic Round Brisbane 2026 will bring all 16 National Rugby League teams to Suncorp Stadium from May 15 to 17 for one of the biggest weekends on the rugby league calendar.
The festival begins after Game 2 of the Ampol Women’s State of Origin series on Thursday night, with Brisbane set for four days of matches, fan events and city-wide rugby league activity.
The weekend also arrives amid major coaching news, with Ivan Cleary’s representative coaching ambition opening a new door after his Panthers exit, while official event details are available through the National Rugby League website.
Magic Round Launches in Brisbane
The official launch will take place at King George Square from 5.15pm on Wednesday, May 13.
Fans can see Brisbane City Hall lit up with a rugby league-themed display, along with live music, activations and player appearances.
Club representatives scheduled to appear include Cory Paix, Jake Turpin, Blayke Brailey, Jake Averillo, Jojo Fifita, Corey Waddell, Tyran Wishart, Brodie Jones, John Bateman and J’maine Hopgood.
Anthony Minichiello and Kevin Campion will also appear as club legends and official ambassadors.
King George Square Becomes Magic Hub
The Magic Hub will run from Thursday, May 14 to Sunday, May 17, opening daily from 11am to 10pm.
The fan zone will show live matches, host entertainment and give supporters a central place to enjoy the weekend away from Suncorp Stadium.
City Hall projections will run each evening from Wednesday to Sunday.
For fans without match tickets, the Magic Hub offers another way to be part of the atmosphere.
Caxton Street and Stadium Precinct Ready
The Caxton Street Fan Activation Zone will open across the Women’s State of Origin and Magic Round fixtures.
Fans can expect free entertainment, games, music, Red Bull and KIA activations, Shapes sampling and a Steeden guessing challenge.
Inside the stadium precinct, Youi Magic Land will offer family activities including an inflatable obstacle course, face painting and banner making.
Chemist Warehouse, Avene, Witzer, Bundaberg Rum and the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation will also feature across the precinct.
Women’s Origin Adds to Big Weekend
Ampol Women’s State of Origin Game 2 will be played at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday before Magic Round begins.
Tickets start from $20 for adults, $10 for kids and $40 for families, with the crowd expected to challenge last year’s Suncorp Stadium record of 26,022.
Westpac Catch & Keep will also return, allowing fans who catch a match ball to keep it.
The feature will apply during Women’s State of Origin Game 2 and NRL Magic Round Brisbane.
Kick for a Cause Targets $1 Million
The Australian Rugby League Commission and Youi will launch Kick for a Cause during the weekend.
The campaign aims to raise $1 million for 11 paediatric cancer centres across Australia and New Zealand.
Youi will donate $1,000 for every converted try and penalty goal during Magic Round.
The pledge will double for every successful field goal across the three-day event.
