The Australia T20 squad Bangladesh tour will proceed without veterans Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Steven Smith. Chief selector George Bailey confirmed the trio remains in the frame despite being left out of the 16 man group heading to South Asia this June.
Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood will also miss the series to manage their physical condition ahead of a packed Test schedule. The decision follows a disappointing World Cup exit and represents a move toward testing squad depth for future tournaments.

George Bailey Explains Selection Shift
George Bailey clarified that none of the senior players were technically dropped from the national side. He stressed the need to trial new roles before the LA Olympics and the 2028 World Cup.
"It's not the end of the road," George Bailey said regarding the veteran trio. "I wouldn't call it dropped per se, but I understand that they're not within the squad."
He noted that the recent World Cup result provided a clear chance to look at different players. The expectation remains that those selected for the tour of Bangladesh must perform at a high level.
Career Outlook for Senior Stars
Glenn Maxwell has struggled for runs lately but remains open to playing domestic cricket for Victoria. He will be 40 by the time the next home World Cup arrives in two years.
Steven Smith has expressed a strong desire to play in the LA Olympics despite being viewed primarily as a T20 opener. He recently found form in the PSL with a century for the Hyderabad Kingsmen.
New Faces Earn Opportunity
Aaron Hardie returns to the national setup following a Player of the Final performance in the PSL for Peshawar Zalmi. He is joined by Sydney Sixers allrounder Joel Davies who earns his first international call up.
George Bailey praised the talent of Joel Davies and pointed out the value of his left arm orthodox spin. The series in Bangladesh begins on June 17 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
