West Indies vs Sri Lanka returns to Sabina Park on Saturday, with the hosts trying to keep the three-match ODI series alive after Sri Lanka opened Gary Kirsten’s coaching tenure with a win.
Sri Lanka’s first ODI victory in the West Indies since 2013 gave them a 1-0 lead, while the home side must fix a middle-order slide against spin after failing to chase a 300-plus target.

West Indies Seek Batting Clarity
West Indies started well in the first ODI through their openers, but their chase slowed once Sri Lanka’s spinners took hold through the middle overs.
Roston Chase will be central to their response after taking 2-47 from 10 overs and making 33 from 46 balls. His ability to handle Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana could give the power-hitters around him more freedom.
Shai Hope also carries strong numbers against Sri Lanka, with 663 ODI runs against them among active batters. West Indies are expected to retain John Campbell, Justin Greaves, Keacy Carty, Hope, Sherfane Rutherford, Chase, Matthew Forde, Gudakesh Motie, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph and Jayden Seales.
Sri Lanka Weigh Bowling Options
Sri Lanka had plenty to like from the opener, with Kusal Mendis attacking through the middle overs and Janith Liyanage adding important late runs.
Kamindu Mendis’ move up the order did not work in the first match, while Pavan Rathnayake’s 24 from 38 balls slowed the innings after Kusal had lifted the tempo.
Dushmantha Chameera was the standout bowler, taking 4-67 with pace, bounce and reverse swing. Sri Lanka may still consider Eshan Malinga, with Sabina Park again expected to offer something for seam and spin.
The surface should let batters hit through the line once they survive the new ball. Dew could matter under lights, with official series updates available through Cricket West Indies.
