GWS vs Fremantle shapes as a major Australian Football League test at Manuka Oval on Saturday, with the injury-hit Greater Western Sydney Giants trying to stop the ladder-leading Fremantle Football Club’s 14-match winning streak.
The 14th-placed Giants enter with a 6-9 record and three straight losses, while Fremantle are chasing their first minor premiership in 11 years. The Dockers are also still on track to challenge Essendon Football Club’s 20-game winning run from 2000.

Giants Lean Into Underdog Role
Greater Western Sydney are not pretending the task is simple. They will face Fremantle without several players, including Phoenix Gothard, Leek Aleer, Max Gruzewski and Brent Daniels.
Debutant Riley Hamilton, who grew up in Canberra and played for Ainslie Tricolours, said the Giants see the challenge as a chance to play with freedom.
"It probably means more to us to just knock them off and get our season back on track than snapping their streak, but if it's there, we're happy to take it," a grinning Hamilton told AAP.
"An underdog mentality is huge for us. We just come out here with no pressure on our shoulders, no one thinks we're going to win, but we've come here to just play with freedom."
Hamilton Ready For Home Debut
Hamilton is set to have about 150 family members and friends watching his first AFL game. That local support should give Manuka Oval a personal edge for the 19-year-old forward.
"My dad's very inspirational to me, and he told me to just go out there, have fun and just really take it all in at once," Hamilton said.
"Trent Dennis-Lane, my forwards coach, said 'Just don't go out there expecting too much - go out there and do what you've done in the VFL and just stick to playing your role'."
Jack Ough is also in line for a debut, while Harry Rowston and Joey Delana return. Fremantle remain unchanged after their 51-point win over Gold Coast Suns.
