Elliot Anderson Manchester City transfer has been confirmed, with the England midfielder joining from Nottingham Forest in a deal reported to be the most expensive move ever for a British player.
The clubs have not disclosed the fee, but British media reported the package could reach $224 million (£116 million). That would edge past the deal worth up to $222 million (£115 million) that took Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid in 2023.

Anderson Completes Medical In Kansas
"Anderson, 23, is competing at the World Cup with England and has completed a medical in Kansas. The formalities of the move will be finalised upon his return to England," City said in a statement.
The move also makes Anderson Manchester City’s most expensive signing. It passes the $193 million (£100 million) City paid Aston Villa for Jack Grealish in 2021.
Anderson came through Newcastle United’s academy before joining Nottingham Forest for $67 million (£35 million) in 2024. He made 92 appearances for Forest in all competitions, scoring six goals and adding 11 assists.
Why City Wanted Him
Anderson has built his reputation as a high-energy midfielder with strong tactical awareness. He offers pressing, ball recovery and the ability to carry possession forward from midfield.
That profile fits a Manchester City side that value control, quick counter-pressing and midfielders who can play through pressure. His progressive passing should also help City build attacks without losing defensive balance.
Newcastle Eye Touré Move
Elsewhere, Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Touré is set to join Newcastle United. The 20-year-old Ivory Coast forward is being linked with a $96 million (£50 million) move.
That fee would be a record transfer income for Hoffenheim. Newcastle need a new left winger after selling England attacker Anthony Gordon to Barcelona.
