Scotland vs Brazil brings major World Cup pressure to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, with both national teams chasing a result that could shape their route into the knockout stage.
Scotland national football team enter Wednesday’s Group C finale after a 1-0 loss to Morocco national football team, while Brazil national football team arrive with momentum from a 3-0 win over Haiti national football team. The match matters because a victory would help either side avoid third-place uncertainty and take control of their Round of 32 path.

Group C Qualification Picture
Brazil and Morocco both sit on four points, with Brazil ahead on goal difference, while Scotland have three points and Haiti remain without a point.
A Scotland win would likely send Steve Clarke’s side through in second place if Morocco beat Haiti. A draw could still be enough for Scotland, but it would leave them waiting on other results.
The last World Cup meeting between Scotland and Brazil came in France in 1998, when Brazil won 2-1. Carlos Cesar Sampaio scored, John Collins replied, and a Tommy Boyd own goal settled the match.
Brazil Injury Questions Add Intrigue
Brazil are expected to be without Raphinha, whose hamstring injury appears to have ended his tournament.
Neymar Jr. may be fit enough to make the matchday squad, giving Carlo Ancelotti a major decision if Brazil need a late attacking spark. Vinícius Júnior, Matheus Cunha and Rayan are expected to lead the attack.
Scotland have injury concerns around Aaron Hickey, Scott McKenna and Lewis Ferguson, although McKenna and Ferguson are expected to be available if selected.
Clarke’s big call is whether to attack Brazil’s vulnerable wide areas or lean on the cautious structure that has often shaped his best results. Against Morocco, Scotland improved once they pushed forward, but the surge came too late.
