Reuben Ginbey injury news has left West Coast Eagles facing a nervous wait, with the defender listed as eight weeks away from returning from a quad injury.
Ginbey was hurt against Port Adelaide Football Club before the mid-season bye and had initially been listed without a clear return date. The new timeline matters because West Coast Eagles have only nine games left in their regular season, leaving the 21-year-old in a tight race to play again this year.

Eagles Name Six Tests For Carlton Clash
West Coast Eagles could still regain several players for Saturday’s match against Carlton Football Club at Marvel Stadium.
Willem Duursma, Tom McCarthy and Jack Graham have all been listed as tests, along with Jack Hutchinson, Matt Owies and Hamish Davis. The possible returns would give the Eagles a much-needed lift after their one-point loss to North Melbourne Football Club before the bye.
“Reuben, as you would expect, has already jumped into his reconditioning program,” West Coast high-performance manager Phil Merriman said.
Merriman said Graham had been close to playing against North Melbourne Football Club after recovering from his shoulder injury.
“Jack was very close to playing in the game against North Melbourne,” Merriman said.
“He has been full training over the last two weeks and if he gets through training this week, he will be available to play.
Duursma And McCarthy Push To Return
Duursma has been working back from a calf issue, while McCarthy is nearing a return from a hamstring concern.
“Willem was in during the bye to make sure he did everything he could to get ready for Carlton.
“He has trained fully over the last week, and as long as he gets through training on Thursday then he will be available.
“Similar to Willem, Tom was in during his break.
“Tom trained fully on Saturday and has produced good speed. Once he completes Thursday, he will be available.”
Harry Edwards remains without a set timeline as he waits for the AFL concussion panel, while Archer Reid is still dealing with persistent knee soreness.
