Connor Rozee hamstring injury news has ended the Port Adelaide captain’s AFL season, with ongoing nerve problems stopping his return after tearing the tendon in his left hamstring on March 22.
The 26-year-old had hoped to play again this year, but Port Adelaide confirmed his recovery has stalled and the focus will now shift toward getting him ready for pre-season.

Rozee Recovery Hits Setback
Port Adelaide fitness boss Tim O’Leary said Rozee’s rehabilitation had “plateaued” in recent weeks because of nerve issues linked to the original injury.
Rozee will not undergo more surgery at this stage, but he received an injection on Tuesday to help break down scar tissue around the affected nerve.
“After seeking multiple specialist opinions, we decided on a non-surgical approach at this stage for Connor,” O’Leary said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The hamstring repair has healed really well.
“However the complication with the initial nerve injury has made it increasingly difficult for Connor’s rehab to progress further.”
Official AFL injury and fixture updates can be followed through the AFL website.
Port Adelaide Target Pre-Season Return
O’Leary said the club hopes the injection will help Rozee resume his progress before the next pre-season begins in October or November.
The loss is a heavy blow for Port Adelaide, with their captain and key playmaker now ruled out for the rest of the campaign.
“We are incredibly disappointed for Connor and know how much he wishes he could be out on the field with his teammates again this year,” O’Leary said.
“But we know he will keep attacking his rehab with the same relentless intensity that he has from day one, and will continue to be the same outstanding leader within the club during his time in rehab.”
Rozee will remain around the group in a leadership role while continuing his recovery away from match play.
