The New York Knicks produced a strong second-half fightback to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 105-95 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night in San Antonio. Trailing by 14 points midway through the third quarter, New York shifted the momentum with a late surge, finishing the game on an 11-0 run to take a 1-0 series lead.
Jalen Brunson led the charge with 30 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points and 12 rebounds. OG Anunoby contributed 17 as the Knicks extended their playoff winning streak to 12 games. For San Antonio, Victor Wembanyama posted 26 points and 12 rebounds in his Finals debut, though his shooting struggled.
The Spurs controlled long stretches before New York’s defensive pressure and late shot-making flipped the contest. Game 2 is set for Friday in San Antonio.
