The National Basketball League has confirmed the full schedule for HoopsFest Perth 2027, with the basketball festival returning to Western Australia from January 13-17 at RAC Arena. The expanded five-day event will feature 10 matches across the NBL and WNBL, following strong crowd numbers in 2026 when more than 35,500 fans attended the tournament. The latest announcement also follows a new partnership between the NBL and Virgin Australia, which will present the event as part of a multi-year agreement.
HoopsFest Perth 2027 Set for Bigger Crowds
Basketball fans will once again see a packed week of action in Perth, with clubs from across Australia and New Zealand scheduled to compete during the festival. Organisers believe the extended format will help build on last season’s rise in attendance and bring more interstate visitors to Western Australia.
The atmosphere around HoopsFest has continued to grow since its launch, especially during prime-time Wildcats fixtures where RAC Arena regularly produced loud crowd reactions and finals-like energy. Fans also responded strongly to the mix of men’s and women’s games being staged across the same week.

Event Continues to Grow Beyond the Court
Alongside the games, HoopsFest Perth 2027 will include community clinics, open training sessions and the Bounce Nation Fan Zone. Organisers expect another strong turnout after last year’s increase in family attendance and junior participation activities.
The festival has also become a regular meeting point for NBA scouts and overseas recruiters searching for emerging basketball talent. Several young Australian players used the 2026 event to strengthen their profiles in front of international observers.
