Marcus Bontempelli injury update has become a major talking point for the Western Bulldogs as the club prepares for their AFL clash against Port Adelaide at Docklands on Saturday. The Bulldogs captain has been dealing with both a knee issue and a newly revealed heel problem, but is still expected to play after completing limited training in Melbourne on Wednesday.
Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge confirmed the added concern, saying, “He’s had a bruised heel that he’s been dealing with, that’s the main thing I’ve been worried about,” while also noting, “It’s the main reason he was limping a bit in the game just gone.”
Despite the pain, Bontempelli remains committed to playing and even delivered a strong performance last round, collecting 33 disposals and two goals against Fremantle.
“He wants to play, and we’re not going to talk him out of doing that.”
The Bulldogs will continue monitoring his workload as they juggle other injuries in the squad.
