Suthar Leads India’s Spin Charge
Suthar took 6-33 in Afghanistan’s first innings as the visitors were dismissed for 152 after resuming day three at 5-113.
Rahmat Shah offered the main resistance with 60, hitting nine fours and a six before Suthar bowled him round his legs to complete a five-wicket haul.
The left-arm spinner had already removed Sharafuddin Ashraf caught behind, then struck again in the same over to dismiss Mohammad Saleem.
India captain Shubman Gill enforced the follow-on, and Afghanistan’s openers were sent straight back out under heavy pressure.
Sundar And Kuldeep Finish Job
Mohammed Siraj trapped Abdul Malik for eight early in Afghanistan’s second innings, before Sediqullah Atal and Rahmanullah Gurbaz tried to hit back.
Atal made 42 and Gurbaz scored 24 from 24 balls, but Kuldeep Yadav broke the stand and later removed Nangeyalia Kharote and Saleem with successive deliveries.
Washington Sundar did the most damage in the second innings with 4-36, while Afghanistan folded for 112.
Sharafuddin Ashraf did not bat because of a quad injury, adding to a difficult finish for Afghanistan.
Suthar ended with match figures of 7-62 as 14 Afghanistan wickets fell on the third day. Official India cricket updates are available through the BCCI website.
