The Tom Aspinall Brock Lesnar dream fight has become a talking point after the UFC heavyweight champion named the former UFC and WWE star as the one “freaky fight” he would like to have.
Aspinall made the admission while spending time with former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall, who is preparing to face Tommy Fury in a Misfits Boxing bout on June 13.
The crossover talk comes after another combat sports headline, with Nate Diaz vs Mike Perry Result: Doctor Stops Fight After Diaz Suffers Brutal Cut showing the continued pull of high-profile fight nights.
Aspinall names Lesnar as dream opponent
Brock Lesnar, 48, has not fought in MMA since 2016, making a return unlikely despite continued interest in his name.
“I would like to fight Brock Lesnar,” Aspinall said.
“I think that would be f—ing cool, wouldn’t it?
“Just because I grew up watching him when he was in the WWE.
“If we are talking freaky fights, that’s one that I would like.”
Lesnar remains one of the most famous crossover athletes in combat sports after his run as UFC heavyweight champion and his long WWE career.
Fans can follow official heavyweight rankings and event updates through the UFC website.
Aspinall’s UFC return delayed again
Aspinall has not fought since his no-contest with Ciryl Gane at UFC 321 last October.
The Englishman later had double eye surgery after Gane’s foul left him unable to continue.
“I’ve just had my recent scan,” Aspinall said last month.
“I thought it was going to get cleared actually, to spar and fight straight away, but they actually said they’ve given me another couple of months, so I’m just waiting.”
Aspinall is expected to face the winner of the UFC White House co-main event on June 14.
Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane are set to meet for the interim UFC heavyweight title, with the winner likely to move closer to Aspinall.
